Maria Johnson truly embodies what it means to be a well-rounded stylist who values her clients both in and out of her salon chair. As a Gulfport native, she grew up with a passion for hair care and community service. This passion pushed her to pursue an education at Chris’ Beauty College in 1999, which aided her in later receiving her license to embark on her journey in serving her community through her clients. Even after receiving formal training, she continues to keep herself abreast of current professional hair care best practices and trends.

As a stylist with 20+ years of experience, she credits her success and deep connections to her clients to her balance of professionalism with a personal touch that always keeps her client at the center of every decision. She enjoys discussing everything from healthy hair tips and current events to life-long goals; her work transcends the chair due to her networking skills and willingness to connect her clients to opportunities that align with their personal goals.

As the owner of Salon Seven of Gulfport, she knows the importance of creating a positive experience for both clients and staff; this is exactly why her salon motto is “the ultimate salon experience.” She is a “missionary behind the chair” and is known to speak positive affirmations and life-giving words to everyone who enters the door. Additionally, her goals are rooted in building and maintaining an upscale salon where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and informed on how to best maintain healthy hair and styles that suit their individual needs and desires. These goals also involve positively impacting and cultivating other stylists.
